My name is Sophie. I like cornish cream tea, musicals, books, disney, campfires, travelling and cocktails. I don’t like noisy eaters, boastful people, kiwi fruit or spiders. I’m very disorganised. I get excited coming up with new lesson plans and ideas. When I buy new clothes I have to try them all on again as soon as I get home. Some of my favourite books are The Time Traveler’s Wife, Great Expectations, Nineteen Eighty-Four, One Day, Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre. I adore romance and hoard anything with sentimental value.

I studied English and French at Warwick University and graduated in July 2011. As part of my degree I spent a year in France working as an English language assistant in two collèges and one lycée in Salon-de-Provence. When I came back from France in May 2010, I took a 120-hour online TEFL course with ITTT, followed by an additional Certificate course in teaching English to young learners (CTEYL).

I’ll be starting my next adventure this October, as I travel to La Réunion to begin another year as an ELA. I’ll be working at Lycée Bras Fusil in Saint Benoît and Collège Gaston Crochet in La Plaine des Palmistes.
